Soft, chewy homemade bagels made quickly in the air fryer, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients
  

  • 3.5 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2.25 tsp Instant Yeast 1 packet
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1.25 cups Warm Water 110°F / 45°C
  • 2 tsp Olive Oil
  • Toppings sesame seeds, poppy seeds, everything seasoning

  • Mixing bowls
  • Wire rack
  • Stand mixer or hand mixer

Method
 

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit 5–7 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil, kneading until smooth.
  3. Cover dough and let rise 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Divide dough into 6–8 pieces, shape into bagels.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Brush bagels with water and add desired toppings.
  7. Air fry 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.
  8. Cool on wire rack 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Optionally boil bagels 30 seconds per side for extra chewy texture.
