Method
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit 5–7 minutes until foamy.
- Mix flour and salt in a large bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil, kneading until smooth.
- Cover dough and let rise 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide dough into 6–8 pieces, shape into bagels.
- Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush bagels with water and add desired toppings.
- Air fry 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.
- Cool on wire rack 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Optionally boil bagels 30 seconds per side for extra chewy texture.
