Ingredients
  

Broccoli & Cheese Mixture
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • to taste salt and black pepper
  • cooking spray or olive oil for air fryer basket
  • red pepper flakes optional, for spice
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Steam or blanch broccoli for 2–3 minutes until tender, then drain and finely chop.
  3. In a large bowl, combine broccoli, cheddar, Parmesan, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Form the mixture into 1–2 tablespoon-sized balls.
  5. Roll each ball in panko breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
  6. Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket to prevent sticking.
  7. Arrange poppers in a single layer, leaving space between them.
  8. Air fry for 8–10 minutes until golden brown and crispy, shaking halfway through.
  9. Remove from air fryer, let cool slightly, garnish with parsley, and serve warm with dipping sauces.
  10. Store leftovers in an airtight container; reheat in air fryer for 3–5 minutes to maintain crispiness.

Notes

Optional variations include adding red pepper flakes for heat, crumbled bacon for smokiness, or using vegan cheese and flax egg for a vegan version.
