  • 2 large onions finely chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Chop onions finely.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and pepper.
  3. Stir in egg and milk to form batter.
  4. Fold in chopped onions.
  5. Heat oil in skillet.
  6. Drop batter into oil and fry until golden.
  7. Drain and serve warm.

Notes

For extra crispiness, fry in cast iron and avoid overcrowding the skillet.
