Ingredients
  

Bread Dough
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.25 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1.25 cups warm water
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Topping
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for brushing
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese for topping

Method
 

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let foam 5 minutes.
  2. Add olive oil, garlic, parsley, pepper, and parmesan. Mix well.
  3. Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms.
  4. Knead dough 6–8 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place in oiled bowl and let rise 1 hour.
  6. Shape into rustic loaf and place on baking sheet.
  7. Let rise 30 minutes.
  8. Brush with olive oil, sprinkle parmesan, and score top.
  9. Bake at 425°F for 20–25 minutes until golden.

Notes

Add a small pan of water in the oven for extra crusty artisan texture. Best served warm.
