Beef and Broccoli Ramen Stir Fry

Ingredients
  

Main
  • 8 oz ramen noodles discard seasoning packets
  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak thinly sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce low-sodium
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup beef broth or water
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional garnish
  • salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Skillet or wok
  • Mixing spoon
  • Knife

Method
 

  1. Cook ramen noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Blanch broccoli florets for 1–2 minutes until bright green. Drain and set aside.
  3. Season beef with salt and pepper. Sear in vegetable oil over medium-high heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add garlic and ginger to skillet, sauté until fragrant. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin, sesame oil, and beef broth. Simmer.
  5. Stir in cornstarch slurry to thicken sauce.
  6. Return beef and broccoli to skillet. Toss in ramen noodles until well coated.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For spice lovers, add chili paste or sriracha to the sauce.
