Ingredients
  

Stir-Fry
  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger minced
Sauce
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
Optional Garnish
  • sesame seeds
  • sliced green onions

Equipment

  • Skillet or wok
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Slice beef against grain and cut broccoli into bite-sized florets. Mince garlic and ginger.
  2. Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, water, and sesame oil.
  3. Heat oil in skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Cook beef 2–3 min until browned. Remove.
  4. Sauté broccoli 3–4 min until crisp-tender. Add garlic and ginger for 30 sec.
  5. Return beef to skillet. Pour in sauce and stir 2–3 min until sauce thickens and coats ingredients.
  6. Serve over steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

Be careful not to overcook beef; stir-fry quickly over high heat for best results.
