Method
- Wash and dry apples thoroughly, remove wax coating, and insert wooden sticks.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat over medium-high, stirring until dissolved. Stop stirring once dissolved.
- Cook until candy thermometer reads 300°F (150°C).
- Remove from heat and stir in black food coloring. Add purple coloring and shimmer dust for swirl effect if desired.
- Dip apples into candy mixture, swirl to coat, and place on greased parchment to cool.
- Let set for 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra spooky flair, drizzle edible silver paint once hardened. Wrap in cellophane for party favors.
