Method
- Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each bread slice.
- On the unbuttered side, spread cream cheese evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Add blueberries and drizzle honey or maple syrup if desired. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.
- Place sandwich in skillet. Cook 3–4 minutes until bottom is golden brown.
- Carefully flip sandwich and cook another 3–4 minutes until second side is golden and cheese melts.
- If cheese hasn’t fully melted, cover skillet with a lid for 1–2 minutes.
- Remove from skillet, let rest 1–2 minutes, then slice diagonally.
- Optionally garnish with mint leaves or sliced almonds before serving.
- Serve warm and enjoy immediately.
Notes
Best served immediately to enjoy the melted cheese. Can be customized with other berries or cheeses.
