Brownie Layer
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate chopped
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Pecan Layer
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs large
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 2 cups pecan halves

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a pie dish.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate until smooth.
  3. Whisk in sugars, eggs, and vanilla.
  4. Fold in flour, cocoa, and salt.
  5. Spread brownie batter into pie dish.
  6. Whisk corn syrup, sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt.
  7. Stir in pecans.
  8. Pour pecan mixture over brownie layer.
  9. Bake 45–50 minutes until set.
  10. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Cool fully for clean layers.
