- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut a pocket into the side of each chicken breast.
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Stuff each chicken breast with mozzarella, tomato slices, and basil leaves.
- Secure with toothpicks if needed.
- Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer skillet to oven and bake 20–25 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let rest 5 minutes, drizzle with balsamic glaze, garnish with fresh basil, and serve.
Notes
Pound chicken for even thickness and juicier results. Fresh mozzarella is preferred for best melt.
