Frosting
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk plus extra if needed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt optional

Method
 

  1. Beat softened butter until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually mix in cocoa powder until fully combined.
  3. Slowly add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well.
  4. Stir in milk and vanilla extract; mix until smooth and fluffy.
  5. Add optional pinch of salt to enhance flavor.
  6. Spread over cooled cakes, brownies, or cupcakes.
  7. Serve immediately or store as needed.

Notes

Sift cocoa and sugar to prevent lumps. Use room temperature butter for smooth frosting.
