Cake Base
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.33 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs large
Peanut Butter Filling
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tub whipped topping 8 oz
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar optional
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
Garnish
  • 0.25 cup chocolate shavings

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Mix chocolate cake ingredients until smooth and pour into baking dish.
  3. Bake 28–32 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Cool for 10–15 minutes, then poke holes evenly across the cake.
  5. Prepare peanut butter filling by mixing peanut butter, whipped topping, milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Pour peanut butter filling over cake, spreading gently and ensuring it seeps into all holes.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours to set.
  8. Garnish with chocolate shavings and optional peanut drizzle before serving.

Use room temperature ingredients for smooth mixing. Chill cake before slicing for best texture.
