Ingredients
  

Candy Cane Dough
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1.5 cups oat flour blend oats if needed
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 1 egg (optional) helps bind
  • 1–2 tbsp water as needed
  • 1–2 tsp beet powder optional, for natural red color

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix grated carrots, mashed banana, coconut oil, and egg in a bowl.
  3. Add oat flour and stir until a soft dough forms. Add water if dough is too dry.
  4. Divide dough in half and add beet powder to one half for color.
  5. Roll each dough portion into long thin ropes.
  6. Twist plain and colored ropes together to form candy cane patterns.
  7. Bend the top to form a hook shape and place on baking sheet.
  8. Bake 20–25 minutes until firm and slightly dry.
  9. Cool completely before giving to your dog.

Notes

Perfect for gifting. Store in airtight container for 1 week or freeze up to 3 months. Do not add chocolate, nutmeg, or raisins.
