Ingredients
  

Casserole
  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 3 cups cooked chicken shredded
  • 1 cup carrots diced
  • 1 cup celery sliced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk or light cream
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
Topping
  • 0.75 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter melted

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook noodles until al dente; drain.
  3. Sauté vegetables in butter until tender.
  4. Stir in flour, then gradually whisk in broth and milk.
  5. Season and add chicken and noodles.
  6. Transfer to baking dish and top with buttered breadcrumbs.
  7. Bake 30–35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
