  • 2 sheets puff pastry thawed
  • 1 egg beaten
Cream Cheese Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
Cherry Topping
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet.
  2. Cut puff pastry into squares and score borders.
  3. Mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg yolk.
  4. Fill centers with cream cheese mixture.
  5. Top with cherry filling.
  6. Brush edges with egg wash.
  7. Bake until puffed and golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm for best texture. Can be dusted with powdered sugar or glazed.
