Method
- Rinse chipped beef under cold water and chop into bite-sized pieces.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, stir in flour, and cook 1–2 minutes to form roux.
- Gradually whisk in milk and simmer until thickened.
- Add chopped beef and black pepper, adjust salt as needed, and simmer 2–3 minutes.
- Serve creamed beef over toasted bread immediately.
Notes
For smoother sauce, rinse beef well. Optional spices can be added for depth.
