Ingredients
  

  • 4 oz dried chipped beef
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk whole or milk of choice
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper more to taste
  • 0.25 tsp salt optional, adjust based on beef saltiness
  • 4 slices bread toasted

Method
 

  1. Rinse chipped beef under cold water and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, stir in flour, and cook 1–2 minutes to form roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and simmer until thickened.
  4. Add chopped beef and black pepper, adjust salt as needed, and simmer 2–3 minutes.
  5. Serve creamed beef over toasted bread immediately.

Notes

For smoother sauce, rinse beef well. Optional spices can be added for depth.
