- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1–2 minutes.
- Slowly pour in heavy cream while stirring continuously to combine.
- Gradually add grated parmesan cheese, whisking until fully melted and smooth.
- Season with salt and black pepper; simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat, stir in chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot over pasta, vegetables, or proteins.
Notes
Use freshly grated parmesan for the smoothest sauce. Avoid high heat to prevent separation.
