Method
- Grease the bottom of the slow cooker with butter.
- Place a layer of sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Add a layer of sliced onions on top.
- Sprinkle garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Add a handful of shredded cheese and some pieces of butter.
- Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until potatoes are soft.
- Top with cooked bacon and chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
For extra creaminess, add a splash of heavy cream or a dollop of sour cream before serving.
