  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup milk
Streusel Topping
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then beat in egg and vanilla.
  3. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
  4. Prepare streusel topping by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and melted butter until crumbly.
  5. Scoop dough into balls, place on baking sheet, and sprinkle topping generously.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet, then transfer to wire rack.
