Ingredients
  

Main Sauce
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1.25 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp onion powder
  • 0.125 tsp nutmeg optional
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Sprinkle in flour and whisk for 1 minute to form a roux.
  4. Gradually add milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and continue whisking until smooth.
  6. Add parmesan, salt, pepper, onion powder, and nutmeg; stir until melted.
  7. Simmer gently for 3–5 minutes until desired thickness is reached.
  8. Remove from heat, stir in fresh parsley, and serve immediately or store in airtight container.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, add 1 extra tablespoon of flour. For thinner sauce, add 2–3 tbsp more milk.
