- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix to form soft dough.
- Knead dough on a floured surface 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
- Punch down dough, roll into rectangle ½ inch thick, cut into 1-inch strips.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over strips, fold slightly if desired.
- Place strips on parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake breadsticks 12–15 minutes until golden.
- Brush warm breadsticks with garlic butter and garnish with parsley.
- Serve warm with preferred dipping sauces.
Notes
For extra crispiness, broil 1–2 minutes at the end. Dough can be prepped ahead in fridge.
