Ingredients
  

Ganache
  • 8 oz dark chocolate finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp orange zest freshly grated
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp orange extract or liqueur optional
  • 1 pinch sea salt
For Coating
  • unsweetened cocoa powder for rolling

Method
 

  1. Chop chocolate and place in a medium heatproof bowl.
  2. Heat cream and butter until just simmering; pour over chocolate and let sit 2 minutes.
  3. Stir slowly until ganache is smooth and glossy.
  4. Add orange zest, vanilla, salt, and orange extract if using.
  5. Chill covered for 1–2 hours until firm.
  6. Scoop and roll into balls, then coat in cocoa powder.
  7. Refrigerate truffles for 15 minutes before serving or gifting.

Use high-quality dark chocolate for the best flavor. Store refrigerated for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer.
