- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold cubed butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Fold in chopped figs and crumbled goat cheese.
- Whisk egg and cream in a small bowl and pour into dry mixture. Fold until dough just forms.
- Pat dough into a 1-inch thick disk on a floured surface.
- Cut into 8 wedges or use a cookie cutter for rounds.
- Chill for 15–20 minutes (optional).
- Brush tops with cream or egg wash.
- Bake 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Add toasted nuts or drizzle honey for extra flavor. Best served fresh and warm.
