Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Butter & Cheese
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, cubed
  • 4 oz goat cheese crumbled
  • 0.5 cup dried figs chopped
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold cubed butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Fold in chopped figs and crumbled goat cheese.
  5. Whisk egg and cream in a small bowl and pour into dry mixture. Fold until dough just forms.
  6. Pat dough into a 1-inch thick disk on a floured surface.
  7. Cut into 8 wedges or use a cookie cutter for rounds.
  8. Chill for 15–20 minutes (optional).
  9. Brush tops with cream or egg wash.
  10. Bake 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Add toasted nuts or drizzle honey for extra flavor. Best served fresh and warm.
