Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract until smooth.
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft. Cool on sheets 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- Optional: Top with whipped cream or marshmallow fluff and sprinkle with mini chocolate shavings or cocoa.
