Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, sugar, and sea salt until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and cornstarch.
- Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the butter mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Scoop dough into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place on prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Flatten each cookie slightly and sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt on top.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can use fleur de sel for sprinkling. These cookies are perfect with coffee or tea.
