Ingredients

Cucumber Mix
  • 4 medium cucumbers thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced or thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pinch red pepper flakes optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Glass jar or airtight container
  • Knife or mandoline slicer

Method

  1. Wash and thinly slice cucumbers. Place in a large bowl or glass jar.
  2. Add minced garlic and chopped fresh dill over the cucumbers.
  3. In a small bowl, mix vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and optional red pepper flakes until sugar and salt dissolve.
  4. Pour the brine over the cucumbers, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  5. Toss gently to coat cucumbers with garlic, dill, and brine.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor.
  7. Serve cold as a side dish, snack, or topping for sandwiches and burgers.
  8. Store in the refrigerator in a sealed container for up to 1 week.

Notes

Adjust sugar and salt to taste for desired sweetness or tanginess. Thinly slicing cucumbers helps them absorb the brine quickly and remain crisp.
