Ingredients
  

Cheddar Bay Biscuits
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 0.75 cup cold buttermilk
  • 1 egg large
Crab Filling
  • 8 oz lump crab meat drained
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 clove garlic grated
  • 1 tbsp green onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
Lemon Butter Topping
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Method
 

  1. Prepare crab filling by mixing cream cheese, crab meat, mayo, mustard, Old Bay, garlic, green onion, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Chill.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Mix dry biscuit ingredients in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until pea-sized.
  4. Stir in shredded cheddar.
  5. Whisk egg into buttermilk and add to dry ingredients to form dough. Do not overmix.
  6. Form biscuit rounds, place a spoonful of crab filling in center, seal and place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  7. Bake 14–18 minutes until golden.
  8. Brush hot biscuits with lemon butter topping, garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

Serve immediately for best flavor. Can be reheated in oven to maintain crispness. Perfect for brunch or appetizer platter.
