- Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar and let sit 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, eggs, and yeast mixture. Knead 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Prepare filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and optional pumpkin puree.
- Roll dough into a 16x12 inch rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread filling evenly, leaving a small border on one edge.
- Roll dough from the long edge and slice into 12 rolls.
- Place rolls in greased baking dish, cover, and let rise 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk; divide and color orange and black. Drizzle over warm rolls and add candy eyes or sprinkles.
- Serve warm for a festive Halloween breakfast or dessert.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin spice. Decorate immediately while warm for best adhesion.
