Hamburger Steaks
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard optional
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Creamy Dill Sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill chopped

Method
 

  1. Combine beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and Dijon mustard to form patties.
  2. Sear patties in olive oil until browned on both sides.
  3. Prepare creamy dill sauce by sautéing onion and garlic, adding broth, cream, mustard, and simmering.
  4. Return patties to sauce and cook until heated through, then stir in fresh dill.

Notes

Do not overmix the beef to keep patties tender. Fresh dill enhances the flavor dramatically.
