Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese cut into small cubes
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs panko or regular
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • oil for frying vegetable or canola

Method
 

  1. Place flour in one bowl, eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a third.
  2. Dredge mozzarella cubes in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture. Double coat if desired.
  3. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet or saucepan.
  4. Fry cheese cubes in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve warm with marinara, ranch, or garlic aioli for dipping.

Notes

Freeze breaded mozzarella bites before cooking for up to 1 month. Fry or bake from frozen when ready.
