Pudding Base
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup cornstarch
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 4 egg yolks large
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
Layers
  • 5-6 bananas sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafer cookies 11 oz

Method
 

  1. Whisk sugar, cornstarch, and salt in saucepan.
  2. Add milk and egg yolks; cook until thickened.
  3. Stir in butter and vanilla.
  4. Layer wafers, bananas, and pudding.
  5. Chill 4 hours or overnight.
  6. Top with whipped cream before serving.
