Ingredients
  

Beef Layer
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
Topping
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes prepared

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Baking dish
  • Wooden spoon
  • Oven

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook onion and ground beef until browned.
  3. Add garlic, tomato paste, seasoning, and broth.
  4. Stir in vegetables and simmer briefly.
  5. Transfer to baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.
  6. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden.

Notes

For extra browning, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
