- Steep Earl Grey tea in warm milk and let cool.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare cake pans.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and tea milk.
- Bake 25–30 minutes until set.
- Cool completely before frosting.
Notes
For stronger tea flavor, use loose-leaf Earl Grey.
