Ingredients
  

Mozzarella Sticks
  • 12 mozzarella sticks frozen
  • 12 bacon strips thin-cut
Breading & Coating
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs mixed with spices
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper adjust for heat
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
Nashville Hot Sauce
  • 3 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp brown sugar

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Frying pan or oven
  • Wire rack

Method
 

  1. Freeze mozzarella sticks at least 1 hour.
  2. Wrap each mozzarella stick with bacon, secure with toothpicks if needed.
  3. Set up breading station: flour, beaten eggs, seasoned panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Coat bacon-wrapped sticks in flour, dip in eggs, then breadcrumbs.
  5. Fry in 350°F oil 3–4 minutes or bake at 400°F 20–25 minutes until golden.
  6. Mix melted butter, cayenne, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and brown sugar for sauce.
  7. Brush hot sauce over cooked sticks immediately.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with dipping sauce.

Notes

Adjust cayenne pepper to taste for desired heat level.
