Method
- Freeze mozzarella sticks at least 1 hour.
- Wrap each mozzarella stick with bacon, secure with toothpicks if needed.
- Set up breading station: flour, beaten eggs, seasoned panko breadcrumbs.
- Coat bacon-wrapped sticks in flour, dip in eggs, then breadcrumbs.
- Fry in 350°F oil 3–4 minutes or bake at 400°F 20–25 minutes until golden.
- Mix melted butter, cayenne, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and brown sugar for sauce.
- Brush hot sauce over cooked sticks immediately.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with dipping sauce.
Notes
Adjust cayenne pepper to taste for desired heat level.
