Ingredients
  

Mozzarella Sticks
  • 12 mozzarella sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1.5 cups breadcrumbs panko preferred
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Nashville Hot Coating
  • 0.5 cup hot frying oil
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Frying pan or deep fryer
  • Tongs
  • Paper towels

Method
 

  1. Freeze mozzarella sticks for at least 1 hour.
  2. Prepare flour, egg mixture, and seasoned breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
  3. Coat mozzarella sticks in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumbs.
  4. Freeze again for 30 minutes.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry mozzarella sticks until golden brown.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Mix hot oil with spices and brush over sticks.

Notes

Adjust spice level to preference. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
