  • 12 oz Cajun sausage sliced
  • 1 cup long grain white rice rinsed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup onion diced
  • 0.5 cup bell peppers diced, optional
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1.5 cups chicken or vegetable broth

Method
 

  1. Sauté sausage until browned and set aside.
  2. Cook onions, garlic, and peppers until softened.
  3. Toast rice briefly, then stir in seasoning and honey.
  4. Add broth and return sausage to skillet, simmer until rice is cooked.
  5. Fluff rice, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.

Adjust honey to taste for desired sweetness. Ensure rice is rinsed to prevent stickiness.
