For Gravy

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
For Mashed Potatoes
  • 2 lbs russet potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 4 cloves garlic roasted or boiled
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream warm
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Mixing bowls
  • Potato masher

Method

  1. Mix beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire, mustard, salt, and pepper. Form meatballs.
  2. Brown meatballs in skillet with olive oil. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make gravy by whisking butter and flour, then adding broth, Worcestershire, and seasoning. Simmer until thickened.
  4. Return meatballs to skillet, cover with gravy, and simmer until cooked through.
  5. Boil potatoes (with garlic). Drain and mash with cream, butter, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  6. Serve mashed potatoes topped with meatballs and gravy, garnish with parsley.

Notes

For deeper flavor, roast garlic for mashed potatoes. Freeze meatballs separately for best texture.
