Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Santa Belly Decoration
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tbsp milk
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • red and white food coloring
  • mini chocolate chips or black decorating gel for belt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until fully combined.
  6. Pour brownie batter into prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. Cool completely.
  8. For the Santa belly icing, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Divide and color accordingly.
  9. Decorate cooled brownies with red and white icing and add chocolate chip belt.
  10. Cut into squares and serve. Store in airtight container up to 3 days.

Notes

For extra fun, use sprinkles or edible glitter. Brownies can be baked a day ahead.
