  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice
  • 1 tsp sesame oil optional
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 green onions chopped, for garnish

Equipment

Method

  1. Prepare all ingredients before cooking. Slice sausage, cabbage, and vegetables.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add sausage slices and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add onion and carrots to the same pan, sauté for 3 minutes, then add garlic.
  5. Add sliced cabbage and toss to combine. Cook until tender-crisp.
  6. Return sausage to pan. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
  7. Cook 3–5 minutes more, season with salt and pepper, then garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

Use turkey sausage for leaner protein. For a vegetarian option, replace sausage with tofu.
