- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a baking dish.
- Sauté leeks in butter until soft and lightly golden.
- Warm cream, milk, garlic, and seasoning gently.
- Layer potatoes, leeks, and cheese in baking dish.
- Pour cream mixture over layers and press gently.
- Bake covered 45 minutes, then uncovered until golden.
Notes
Rest before serving to allow gratin to set. Excellent for holidays and special meals.
