Method
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Spread softened butter on one side of each waffle.
- Place a waffle butter-side down in the skillet.
- Add 1–2 slices of cheese on top. For a sweet variation, layer fruit slices and drizzle with honey or syrup.
- Top with another waffle, butter-side up.
- Grill for 3–4 minutes per side until waffles are golden and cheese has melted.
- Remove from skillet and let rest for 1 minute before slicing in half.
- Optional: sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before serving.
Notes
For a dessert-style sandwich, try adding Nutella or caramel drizzle. To keep savory, pair with ham or bacon instead of fruit.
