Method
- Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until foamy.
 - Add flour, salt, and 2 tbsp butter. Knead dough until smooth. Let rise 30–40 minutes.
 - Roll dough into ropes, cut into 1-inch pieces.
 - Boil pretzel bites in water with baking soda for 30 seconds.
 - Place on baking sheet, brush with egg wash, sprinkle with salt, bake 12–14 minutes.
 - Brush with melted butter before serving.
 
Notes
For sweet pretzel bites, brush with butter and toss in cinnamon sugar after baking.
