White Pizza with Prosciutto

Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast 2 ¼ tsp
  • 0.75 cup warm water 110°F / 43°C
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
White Sauce
  • 0.5 cup ricotta cheese
  • 0.5 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.25 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
Toppings
  • 6-8 slices prosciutto
  • 1 cup fresh arugula
  • 2 tsp olive oil for drizzling
  • optional shaved parmesan for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil, then knead dough until smooth and elastic, about 8–10 minutes.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
  4. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) and prepare a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  5. Roll out dough into a 12-inch circle and transfer to the prepared surface.
  6. Mix ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper to make the white sauce.
  7. Spread the white sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border.
  8. Bake pizza for 10–12 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Remove pizza from oven and layer prosciutto slices on top.
  10. Add fresh arugula, drizzle with olive oil, and optionally sprinkle shaved parmesan.
  11. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

Best served fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat in a hot oven for crispness.
