  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cup white chocolate chips optional
  • powdered sugar or festive sprinkles for decoration

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients, stirring until combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and white chocolate if using.
  7. Scoop dough onto baking sheets 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake 9-11 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool for 2 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to wire rack.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar or add festive sprinkles before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container. Can freeze dough or baked cookies for later use.
